Q: Do I need a passport to travel to Antigua?
A: We strongly recommend that all members of your party travel with a passport with a validity date of at least six months past the date of your departure 'from' the island. As of December 31, 2005, a passport will be required for all US and Canadian citizens to travel to the Caribbean.  For information on obtaining or renewing a passport please go to:  http://travel.state.gov/passport/index.html. In our current times, passports are the most expeditious and reliable form of identification when traveling domestically or internationally.

Q: In the event of a hurricane, what happens to my reservation?

Q: Where is Galley Bay?
A: Galley Bay is located on the sunset side of Antigua, cradled by a 3/4 mile white sand beach and a fascinating saltwater bird sanctuary lagoon.

Q: How far away 'from' the airport is the resort?
A: We are approximately 20 mintues 'from' the airport and a taxi will cost US$17 for up to 4 people.

Q: What time is check-in/out?
A: 12:00 noon is check-out time and 3:00 PM is check-in time.

Q: Can my room be upgraded?
A: Yes, upon availability and with an extra charge payable at the resort.

Q: What type of beds are in the rooms?
A: There are King beds in all room categories.

Q: Are there safes in the rooms and are they included in the cost?
A: Yes, the rooms do have safes available for no charge, however, should you lose the key, there is a $100 fee.

Q: Does my room have a fridge?
A: Yes, all rooms have mini-fridges.

Q: Are there hairdryers, irons and ironing boards in the rooms?
A: Hairdryers are provided in all rooms.  Irons and ironing boards are available upon request.

Q: What is the voltage at the resort?
A: The voltage is 110V.

Q: Are the rooms air-conditioned and do they have ceiling fans?
A: Yes, the rooms are air-conditioned and also have ceiling fans.

Q: Are there alarm/clock radios in the rooms?
A: Yes in all rooms.

Q: Are dinner reservations required?
A: Reservations are only required at the Gauguin Restaurant.

Q: What is the dress code policy?
A: In the restaurants, shoes are worn and bathing suits are covered. After 7:00 p.m., men wear shirts with collars and short or long sleeves (no t-shirts or tank tops) and slacks (no shorts or jeans); and women wear dresses, skirts, slacks, culottes or tailored, Bermuda-length shorts (no short shorts, cutoffs or jeans).

Q: I have a restricted diet due to allergies; will I be limited to the food on the menus?
A: Upon arrival at the resort, please be sure to identify yourself and a meeting will be arranged with the Chef. While specific dietary requirements cannot be guaranteed, the chef will gladly assist with helping to meet your needs.

Q: Can I have room service?
A: Continental breakfast only.

Q: Do you provide snacks between meals?
A: Afternoon tea is served daily between 4-5pm and the Gauguin Restaurant serves its regular menu 'from' 11am-5pm and reopens again for dinner.

Q: When is the Manager's Cocktail party?
A: Wednesday nights at 6:30pm.

Q: Are there any day trips?
A: In addition to the complimentary activities that are a part of Galley Bay's all-inclusive package, there are a variety of optional excursions that may be arranged through guest services. Take a trip to Nelson's Dockyard or Shirley Heights. There is a fee for these, and other optional excursions.

Q: Can I snorkel right off the beach at the resort?
A: Yes, and snorkeling trips are also available at the Tour Desk.

Q: How far is it to the nearest shopping area?
A: The capital city of St. John's is only a 10 minute taxi ride away.

Q: How many golf courses are on the island and how far away are they?
A: There are two golf courses on the island - they are both 30-45 minutes away and a taxi will cost in excess of $20.

Q: How many tennis courts does the resort have and what kind of surface are they?
A: Galley Bay has one tennis court with artificial turf.

Q: Is there a tennis pro at the resort? How much are lessons?
A: Yes, there is a tennis pro.  Lessons start at $30 for 1/2 hour.

Q: Are motorized watersports available?
A: Not at Galley Bay.

Q: Is there a dive shop on property?
A: No there isn?t, but our Tour Desk is happy to arrange any dive excursions for you.

Q: Where is the nearest dive shop?
A: The nearest dive shop is 10 minutes away and the cost for a taxi is $12 each way.

Q: Can guests scuba dive at the resort?
A: Diving cannot be done 'from' our beach, but the snorkeling is great!

Q: Is there a gift shop at the resort?
A: Yes there is.

Q: Can I rent a car? What is the daily cost?
A: Yes, car rental is available at the rental desk located at the resort.  The daily cost is approximately $50.

Q: Can I use a US driver's license?
A: No, you will need to purchase a temporary visitor's license for a nominal $20 fee.

Q: Do you rent bikes?
A: Yes, bicycles are available for rent.

Q: What type of night-time entertainment is offered?
A: Live bands play nightly.

Q: Is there a casino at the resort?
A: No, but the closest one is only 10 minutes away.

Q: Is internet access available?
A: Yes in the library.

Q: Do you arrange transportation to local churches on Sundays?
A: Yes, this can be arranged.

Q: Is there an ATM at the resort?
A: No, but there is one in town, 10 minutes away.

Q: What type of deposit is required?
A: A three-night deposit is required when you book your reservation. Full payment is required 21 days prior to arrival. Personal checks, MasterCard, Visa and American Express are accepted. Checks must be in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank. All payments must be made to the U.S. Reservations office in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Cancellations within 14 days of arrival will be subject to a three-night cancellation penalty. Special cancellation and deposit policies apply 'from' the Holiday season through March.

Q: Are children allowed at Galley Bay?
A: Children under the age of 16 are not permitted at Galley Bay.

Q: Do you have special polices during the Holiday season?
A: A three-night deposit is required at the time of booking for reservations accepted for the Holiday season (December 21 - January 2 arrivals). Final payment is due November 15. Cancellations after October 15 are non-refundable. For arrivals during February, all reservations and complete payment must be recived no later than 30 days prior to arrival. Any cancellations within 30 days of travel date will result in a 3-night cancellation penalty fee.
