Require Documentation

Please travel with valid passports, immigration cards (stamped locally at airport). If divorced original proof of Decree Absolute; if widowed, original death certificate; original proof of name change by Deed Poll; if under 18 years of age, evidence of consent of parents is required in the form of an original Affidavit by a Notary Public. N.B. Documents such as birth certificates and Decree Absolutes must be officially translated into English.


One (1) business day is required before legal proceedings can begin. Couples must attend to the Ministry of Legal Affairs in St. John’s (30 minutes drive from the hotel) and complete and sign a declaration stating that the information they are giving is correct. Please note the Ministry is not open on weekends or public holidays. If there is any doubt as to either person’s single status, it may be necessary to swear an affidavit before a solicitor (approximately US$40 each)


While specific requests can be made through our sales offices, Galley Bay Resort & Spa, Antigua cannot guarantee a specific time for the Wedding ceremony prior to your arrival. Ceremonies are generally performed between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., but not on weekends or public holidays.


All weddings, including the free wedding, require a local licensing fee of US$350 (subject to change). This fee is payable to the local authorities and includes all licenses/services of registrar/copy of marriage certification. Cost of transportation to Legal Affairs and the High Court is NOT included. Transfers must be paid directly to the driver. Government offices are not open on public holidays.

These are all readily available and your personal wedding coordinator will not only discuss your exact requirements, but will also
advise current prices on your arrival at the resort. All optionals are payable locally and are provided by third-party independent
contractors; the resort is not responsible for quality. If you wish to add any of these optionals to your Wedding Package, please
indicate in the “Tell us about any special requests for your ceremony” section when filling out the Plan Now form.
